About Us

Shine has been in the USEF top sires list for Hunter Breeding for many years, including being in the top 8 for the last 3 years. Olde Oaks Farm has been near the top of the list of USEF top breeders in hunter breeding for the last 3 years.

Located in Thompsons, Texas on 450 beautiful acres, Olde Oaks Farm has been breeding and training promising equine athletes since 2006. Owner and Managing Director Victoria Hunton has been involved in the equestrian sport since childhood, competing as both a junior and an amateur, including with Olde Oaks Farm stallion Shine in the Adult Amateur Hunter division. Inspired by Shine’s success in the hunter divisions, Vicki turned her attention to hunter breeding.

Now, with Shine at the center of the program, she specializes in hunter breeding alongside trainer Sharon Soderquist, who prepares the youngsters for the show ring. The breeding side of Olde Oaks Farm focuses on the intentional breeding and development of amateur-friendly horses, specifically those for the hunter ring. Standing successful hunter derby stallion Shine and versatile athlete Montaro OHF, Olde Oaks Farm breeds approximately three foals per year. Under Sharon, young prospects are trained gradually and confidently and are often shown in-hand in the Hunter Breeding divisions. In addition to the boutique breeding, Olde Oaks Farm also offers a selection of high-quality hunter and jumper prospects and green horses for sale, as well as limited boarding options for horses in training with Sharon.

Each horse in our care—whether a brand new foal or a developing youngster—receives an individually tailored program and training plan. With 2 barns, a climate-controlled tack room, automatic fly system, individual fans, a TheraPlate and MagnaWave system, brand new fencing, a covered arena and covered round pen, two grass riding fields, and acres of pasture, Olde Oaks Farm is equipped and dedicated to breeding and training well-adjusted and well-rounded modern hunter and jumper horses.
