Victoria Hunton
Vicki’s involvement with horses began as a twelve-year-old participant in Pony Club in Hawaii, though she wasn’t the only member of the family with the “horsey” bug—her father having ridden as a youngster and her grandparents owning steeplechasers. When she moved to Houston, she began riding at Pecan Tree Farm with Burnis and Dan Foy, where she showed in the hunter ring. Observing the Foy’s thoroughbred breeding operation piqued Vicki’s interest and she was hooked. She bred her first foal in 1992 and hasn’t looked back since, now breeding approximately three foals per year with her handful of quality mares. In 2006, Vicki purchased Shine to be her Amateur Adult Hunter. With trainer Liza Richardson of Hunter’s Run Farm, Vicki and Shine enjoyed a great deal of success in the show ring. Although Shine is now retired from competition, Vicki still shows and draws on her experience as a competitive amateur to breed horses laid-back and easy enough for careers in the amateur divisions. Vicki combines her almost fifteen years of professional breeding experience with a lifelong love of horses to create a top program in Olde Oaks Farm.
Sharon Soderquist
Sharon Soderquist has always been interested in breeding and training young horses. Her involvement with the equestrian industry began as a child in Indonesia, where she rode dressage. She moved to the United States in 2001, and began riding with two-time Olympian Colonel John Russell at Russell Equestrian Center in San Antonio. In 2008, Sharon went to South Dakota to work at Westfalen and RPSI breeding operation Solomon Farms. As a working student there, she was exposed to all aspects of breeding and training young horses. She then moved to Florida, where she worked with several dressage trainers, including USDF bronze, silver, and gold medalist Brian MacMahon. Sharon also worked for show jumper Derek Peterson of Legacy Farms.
Sharon purchased Montaro OHF in utero in 2008 and has been responsible for developing him from a foal to a successful, approved breeding stallion. She has been part of the Olde Oaks Farm team since 2016 and enjoys participating in all aspects of the operation. Sharon works closely under Hunter’s Run Farm’s Liza Richardson.
