Young Horse Development

With an emphasis on positive experiences and careful attention to detail, trainer Sharon Soderquist’s approach to training young horses starts with a solid groundwork foundation. Young horses in training at Olde Oaks Farm begin with in-hand work to create trust and respect between horse and human—a practice that later transfers under saddle and allows each horse to be a confident partner in the ring. Young horses are often shown in-hand, which allows them to gain show experience and confidence in a relaxed manner. Each young horse developed at Olde Oaks Farm is meticulously cared for and receives individual, tailored training to ensure a solid start!

Boarding

Olde Oaks Farm offers boarding available for young horses purchased from our program and horses in training with Sharon. With two barns on the property and 29 stalls total, individual fans, numerous turnout pastures, covered arena, covered round pen, two outdoor riding fields, tack room, wash stall, TheraPlate, MagnaWave and more, we are proud to offer top-notch care to every horse in our program.
